Best of East India Wildlife Tour – Sunderban Itinerary (3 Days / 2 Nights)
Day 1: Kolkata – Sunderban Tiger Reserve
Your journey begins in the morning from Kolkata (hotel/airport/railway station). Travel through scenic countryside to Godkhali Jetty (2 hrs by road), then board a boat for a 2-hour cruise through rivers Gomor and Durgadhwani to reach Sunderban Tiger Camp.
Optional stop at Gosaba to visit Sir Daniel Hamilton’s historic house.
Check into your cottage, enjoy a hot lunch, and cruise through the creeks to Sajnekhali Watchtower and Mangrove Interpretation Centre for wildlife and birdwatching. Return for Hi-Tea and an Adibasi tribal dance performance by the bonfire. Dinner at the Fisherman’s Wharf ends your first day.
Day 2: Sunderban Tiger Reserve
Wake up to birdsong and tea on your balcony. After breakfast onboard, cruise to Dobanke Watchtower for a canopy walk and visit the spotted deer rehabilitation centre. Return via Matla–Sea Face for lunch.
In the afternoon, explore Dayapur village—interact with locals, observe mud homes, traditional farming, and village crafts. End the day with refreshments, a wildlife documentary, and dinner.
Day 3: Sunderban – Kolkata
Morning tea is followed by a final cruise to Sudhanyakhali Watchtower to spot tigers, deer, water monitor lizards, and more. Breakfast is served onboard. After an early lunch at the camp, transfer back to Kolkata by boat and road.
