From traditional favorites to innovative creations, the Sundarban Hilsa Festival 2024 promises to satisfy every craving.

Although the monsoon season is typically not recommended for planning a tour to Sundarban National Park due to the heightened risk of floods and rising water levels, for enthusiasts of Hilsa fish, these rainy months present the Best Time to Visit Sunderbans. Hilsa lovers relish this opportunity to indulge in their favorite delicacy. What makes Hilsa so special extends beyond its delicious flesh; it’s also about the oil used in cooking, which adds an exquisite flavor. Bengalis, or “Bongs,” particularly appreciate this culinary tradition. The oil from cooking Hilsa is often drizzled over rice, elevating the dining experience to heavenly heights. Popular Hilsa dishes such as Ilish Bhapa, Ilish Tel, Doi Ilish, and Ilish Paturi are just a few examples of the culinary delights awaiting those who appreciate this iconic fish.
