Gorumara National Park is located in the Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal, in the scenic Dooars region at the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas. Declared a National Park in 1992, it covers an area of approximately 79.45 sq km and is part of the Eastern Himalayan biodiversity hotspot. The park is especially famous for the one-horned rhinoceros and rich forest ecosystems.

Gorumara is home to a wide variety of wildlife including Indian rhinoceros, Asian elephants, Indian bison (gaur), leopards, sambar deer, barking deer, spotted deer, wild boars, and numerous bird species such as peafowl, red jungle fowl, and Indian hornbill. Flowing between the Murti and Neora rivers, the park plays a vital role in wildlife conservation and was recognised as one of India’s best protected areas by the Ministry of Environment & Forests in 2009.
