How to Reach Kaziranga National Park
By Air
The nearest airport to Kaziranga National Park is Jorhat Airport, located about 96 km away. Visitors can also use Tezpur Airport, which is approximately 60 km from the park.
By Rail
Furkating Junction is the nearest railway station, situated around 75 km from Kaziranga and well-connected to major cities in Assam and Northeast India.
By Road
Kaziranga National Park is easily accessible by road from Guwahati (about 240 km) and Jorhat. Regular buses, taxis, and private vehicles operate between these cities and the park.
Best Time to Visit Kaziranga National Park
The best time to visit Kaziranga National Park is from November to April, when the weather is pleasant and wildlife sightings are excellent. The park remains closed from 1st May to 31st October due to the monsoon season and flooding caused by the Brahmaputra River.
Winter (November to February)
Winter is the ideal season for wildlife safaris and birdwatching, with cool temperatures ranging from 5°C to 25°C.
Summer (March to April)
Summer offers good opportunities for animal sightings near water bodies, though temperatures can rise up to 37°C.
Monsoon (May to October)
Heavy rainfall and flooding make this the least suitable time to visit. The park remains closed during this period.
